First Baseball Game

Adriane and I took Madeline to her first Minor league Baseball game last night. We went downtown Indy to watch the Indianapolis Indians play. Madeline Loved watching the guys hit and throw the ball. She was even yelling " hey batter batter" and "You're out". We had great seats, only about 15 rows up from their dugout and we didn't have many people sitting around us.
Madeline got to play the Speed Pitch game where she threw the ball really hard 3 times and she threw it really well without instruction on how to throw. Her favorite part of the whole night was hitting the ball. She loved it so much that she played the hitting game 4 times and hit the ball all 12 times she was at bat.
We enjoyed hot dogs, popcorn, nachos and cotton candy. Madeline and I received free Indian's T-Shirts as part of our ticket package. We all had so much fun that we will try to attend several more games this summer. 

Gymnastics Class

Daddy's birthday gift to Madeline this year was Gymnastics Class. She will attend once a week for 10 weeks. Today was her first visit and she loved it! The parents sit upstairs and watch the class from a balcony. Madeline walked across the balance beam frontwards and backwards, learned to hang from the bars and use her muscles to pull her legs straight up and she was taught to do a somersault. She doesn't want to tuck her head so the coach has to work with her on the rolling and we need to do lots of somersault practicing at home this week.
She did very well at listening and following instruction but I had to laugh several times because as soon as Coach Mitch took his eyes off her, she would run and hang on the bars or get on the trampoline! 

Another Fun Day

Madeline, Maizey and I had a great day at Grandma's house. Madeline ate Cheetos at her little picnic table and she fed several to Maizey also. Maizey loves going there because we have a long line she can stay on so she can play outside with us all day. She has also learned not to run away and we are able to leave her off a leash most of the time as well. 

We blew bubbles, went swimming, played Barbies and sprayed Grandpa with squirt guns. We stayed there all day and had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa before coming home to end our day playing workshop and watching Lalaloopsy. Maddy has not been taking naps during the day so she goes to bed between 9 and 10pm now. 

First Slumber Party Away

Madeline had a slumber party with Gabe and Bella at our house last weekend and this weekend it was Madeline's turn to stay at their house. I took Madeline to Jeff and Kris' house at 6pm last night where she ate dinner and played outside with her cousins. They also watched a few movies and played with the guinea pig.
Madeline and Bella slept on a giant bed made from blankets on the floor and I was told Maddy stayed up until about 11pm.
This was Madeline's very first time to sleep away from home without me and this was also the very first night I have spent all by myself since she was born. Needless to say, after hanging with my friends for a while and getting to take a long shower, I had a hard time sleeping. I was up bright and early to pick her up. Madeline told me she had a great time away and I was happy for some alone time but we were both very happy to see each other this morning!!

BonFire

We continued our Memorial Day Weekend Celebration after a long nap and dinner. Uncle Jeff made a big bonfire in the woods at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He gave Gabe, Bella, Aubrey, Harper and Madeline each their own colored glow stick. The kids used them to search for bugs and other fun stuff in the woods. The fun ended early though as a big rain storm moved in at about 10pm.

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Lots of friends and family came over to listen to the Indy 500 Race and enjoy some grilled food and sunshine. Madeline spent over 3 hours swimming in the pool with her cousins and they played with play-dough, kicked the ball around and squirted everyone with water guns. Madeline fell fast asleep at 5pm as soon as we walked in our door.

First Slumber Party

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kris really needed some time together since Jeffrey has been active with his National Guard Unit. So after a fun evening swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's house Gabe and Bella came to our apartment for a slumber party! We ate bagel bites, watched Brave, played and had so much fun. We stayed up way too late though as the girls didn't crash until about 1:30 this morning and we had to be up for church at 8!! This was Madeline's first slumber party and it was great.

Madeline is very brave. It only took 3 days of swimming for her to understand how to kick her legs and move her arms to swim. As of yesterday she now will swim all by herself (with a life jacket on) around the pool and loves jumping from the side of the pool into my arms. 

We had a really fun swimming day with Cousins Gabe and Bella and Grandpa Jeff.

Swimming

Madeline really loves swimming. We spent a few hours in the pool on Wednesday with our friend Adriane and several more hours yesterday. Madeline is learning to float by herself when wearing a life jacket and I am teaching her to jump in from the side and kick her feet to get back to the steps.

Cousins

Madeline and I slept in late and missed Church today. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch and spent some time with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kris, Uncle Jeff, Gabe, Bella and Uncle Jerry. We all helped Grandma plant some new trees in her garden and put down fresh mulch as her big present from all of us. 

After a few hours Madeline and I headed home and slept for 3 hours!! Madeline gave me a GIANT card that Grandpa took her to buy and she gave me lots of big hugs and kisses today. We ended our fun day playing at the playground in our complex and having a friend over for some playtime this evening.
