Happy New Year!

We are ringing in the new year with a fun night at home as a family. It is freezing outside so we decided to stay inside and enjoy some quality time together. We watched the Ryan Seacrest New Years Celebration and ordered carry out from Carraba's. Maddy is enjoying rocking around in her walker and playing with her new toys while daddy and I are watching with delight. Madeline tried really hard to stay awake to see the new year ball drop but fell asleep about 20 minutes early. She was sound asleep in her chair by 11:40, she did great!!
Now that Madeline has found her feet, she can actually suck on her toes! Its hilarious to watch her reach for her feet and pull them to her mouth! We are looking forward to a new and exciting year full of adventure with our precious baby Madeline.

28 Weeks Old

Madeline is now 28 weeks old and doing great. She is becoming more independent and likes to have alone time each day in her crib or walker to unwind and regain energy for the day. Madeline is extremely strong and now sits up by herself for playtime and can scoot around with her toys. She can move backwards in her walker until she runs into a wall or furniture and i have to pull her out into the open space. When in the walker, she can stand on both feet and play with her toys as if she is standing without support.
When laying down, she can pull her bottom off the bed like a back bend and she is able to pull her head and neck up a few inches.
Madeline talks a lot now and says momma and dadda but I'm sure she doesn't know what she is saying yet. She babbles for long periods of time like she is having conversations with her toys and me!
Maddy is wearing size 3 diapers and size 9 and 12 month clothing. Size 6 month pants are too short for her long legs and tops are too tight!
She is still teething and we are waiting patiently for her first tooth to pop up. She is going through a mommy phase right now where she wants me to hold her a lot more then usual. She also sleeps in our bed at night and will not sleep in her crib or pack and play. She will sleep sitting in her vibrating chair for a few hours, then right into our bed!!
Madeline is eating Peas this week as her 2nd solid food. She loves them more then carrots and is eating peas 2 times a day.

Merry Christmas

We celebrated Madelines first Christmas today ( 6 months old) and she had a blast ripping through wrapping paper and digging through bags. She wore a cute little santa hat and outfit decorated with reindeer. She received lots of great gifts from Santa and our entire family. We send a giant Thank You Hug to Aunt Carol, Mike and Marina, Jeff and Kris, and all of Maddy's Grandparents for helping to make this Christmas a very special one by sending Madeline very special gifts. Madeline had about 30 presents to open today and fell right asleep after opening because there was so much excitment. Madeline received several cute outfits, lots of teething toys, a cabbage patch doll and a suprise newborn cabbage patch doll. Maddy's Aunt Kris and Uncle Jeff sent her several great books and outfits (Made by Kris) and Grandma Anita and Grandpa Jeff sent her a really neat play telephone and baby Mickey along with several more outfits! Maddy is definately the best dressed baby in our neighborhood! Madeline has so many new toys that Grandma Jill bought her a toy bin!

We spent the day watching movies and eating yummy food that Grandma Jill made special for Christmas. Of course we could not forget about our other special babies: Victor. Maizey and Snicker. They all had stockings full of yummy treats. Snicker received a new Cat House to sleep in. Maizey got a new pink bed and Victor got a new pet blanket. Needless to say this was a very special Christmas for all of us.

Santa and Madeline

Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa took Madeline to visit with Santa today. Santa made a stop at our favorite store, Bass Pro Shop. Madeline sat with santa and they laughed and giggled and had a great time. We will make special sugar cookies tonight for Santa and his Reindeer in hopes he leaves Madeline the special gift she asked him for!

Fun on Christmas Eve

Grandpa Doug and Grandma Jill are in town this week to celebrate Maddy's first Christmas with us. So far we have enjoyed our time running around Christmas shopping, watching movies and eating...alot!

Madeline has a few fun outfits showing her holiday spirt. Kevin's cousin Tricia stopped by for a visit on Thursday. She just moved to Arizona from Michigan and is settling right in.

We are looking forward to Santa coming and watching Madeline open her first presents!!

6 Months Old

Maddy went to visit the Pediatrician this week, but our camera broke and we did not have the memory card in it. So, we lost the pics. But we have some good ones of Madeline eating baby food for the first time. Apparently she loves Carrots, because she is eating them like there are no carrots left in this world...lol. She is in the 60th percentile in height, weight and head size. She is 26 1/4 inches tall, weighs 16 1/2 lbs, and she has a good size melon (I cant remember her head size). She is rolling over from her back to stomach and her stomach to back, and after 6 months her eyes are still bright blue, so we may have a blue eyed girl after all. She is happy, healthy and is making a mess when she eats. What more could we ask for. :)

Cute Pics from Disney

Maddy met her cousin Myles for the first time during our trip. Myles was very sweet with Maddy and they had a great time sharing toys and playing!

The Lustig Family at Disneyland

At almost 6 months old, Madeline enjoyed her first road trip and time at Disneyland!!!
We had a great time at Disneyland with Adam, Missy, Myles, Grandpa Doug and Grandma Jill. We spent Monday at the park and Madeline rode her first ride! She rode with me and Kevin on Peter Pan and Its a Small world. She loved all the colorful lights and sounds and was very happy. Kevin got to eat a giant turkey leg for lunch, he has been talking about this for months! We stayed at the Anabella hotel across from the park and rode a shuttle right to the park gate. The weather was in the 80's on Monday then dropped to the 60's on Tuesday.
We celebrated Kevins 30th birthday at ESPN Spotsbar and shopping at Disneys downtown district. Madeline did very well in the long 6 hour car ride both ways and slept most of the time. We look forward to another trip next year!!

Getting Ready for Disney!

We are rushing around today trying to pack and organize for our big trip to DisneyLand! This is Madeline's first Road Trip!! We leave Sunday morning and are driving straight to Anahiem, CA. It will take us about 6 hours to get there plus any stops we make for stretching. We are meeting Kevins parents, brother and Missy and their son. We are looking forward to a great time and will post all our pictures when we get back!

Rice Cereal Time

As you can see, Madeline has decided she no longer wants to eat rice cereal . She plays with it and spits it right out during feedings. She has been doing this all week. She goes for her 6 month check up next week and she will get the green light to start trying real baby food, I am looking forward to this! We have fun playing with the rice cereal though and are anxiously awaiting her check up.

Just Having Fun

Today Madelin, Kevin and I ventured out for a day full of Christmas Shopping. These pictures are of Maddy excited and ready to go! She was happy all day and we were able to get most of our shopping done without a hitch.
I bought Madeline size 3 diapers this week as the size 2 were starting to get snug. She still loves playing with her feet and grabs them all day long. Madeline got her first open wound today...its on her little toe. She cut a chunk of skin off when she was kicking her stroller today. It bled quite a bit and she wore her first tiny band aid. From now on we ae keeping shoe on her!
